How I've Been Surviving "No Sleep" While Pregnant

I've definitely been having a very hard time falling asleep and staying asleep at night. I either get very dehydrated and wake up to drink water, have an extremely bad migraine, run to the bathroom a couple times and can't fall back asleep, or I just get physically uncomfortable and just can't keep sleeping. I've never been one able to fall asleep easily, but once asleep before pregnancy, I would usually stay asleep until I had to wake up. Baby Boy Pollitt decided that was going to change!!
There are a couple things that sometimes help get me back to sleep or stay asleep...
My body tends to heat up a ton when I sleep, so sometimes it’s a matter of find ways to cool myself down, so I can get comfortable
∙ I'll open a window (now that we're back in Maryland and the weather is colder)
∙ Go downstairs or to another room that's cooler
∙ Get fresh water with a lot of ice
∙ Grab icepacks and lay them on my chest, arms, wrists, or back
Some nights I try moving to the couch or another bed
Sleeping over the comforter with a separate blanket
Taking my hair down if it’s up or putting it up if it’s down
Keep a nightlight in the bathroom or hallways, so I don’t have to turn lights on
Keep snacks next to the bed-- even when I don’t feel hungry sometimes my body just needs food to go to sleep
My last resort is getting on my phone until I wear out-- some people are against this option because they want to minimize their screen time at night. I've been trying to limit my screen time because I get headaches easily, but I get so desperate to tire myself out I try everything---
BUT sometimes nothing works and I just have to get up, but plan for a nap later in the day
Some nights it’s worth having to wake up more to do these things because it means there's a possibility I'll get a couple more hours of sleeping in.
I am SO grateful to have Dave by my side during this pregnancy and to parent because he takes such amazing care of me. He knows this pregnancy hasn't been a walk in the park, so he gave me an early Christmas present--- A PREGNANCY PILLOW--- I've been sleeping so much more. I definitely missed being able to sleep!! I also never thought I would be one to sleep with a sleeping mask to cover your eyes, but I tried it and again, SLEEP! I'm finally sleeping through the night more!! The pregnancy pillow has done wonders---- Click here for the one I've been using!
